A new week

Well. hopefully I can get into a routine similar to the day I had today. Let me begin by taking you thru my hum drum day. Started out by making some banana bread from some mooshy bananas. I check the bread and the tester came out clean so one would think the bread was done. BUT NOOOOO. I take it out to cool on a wire rack and within minutes the middle sinks in. I have been cooking since I was 11 years old and this banana bread whips me every time. so you know what to do. slice it up thick and warm in in the microwave for a minute or less and put some butter on it. Super tasty. Problem solved.
I also did laundry, dusted, swept and mopped the wood floor in the front room. That floor is never shiny enough for my satisfaction. I have concluded it just isnt a shiny floor. I think I may have discovered a pretty good solution for mopping. Using my Libman mop I mix my favorite Spic N Span with a little Murphy's Oil Soap. Floor is clean and relatively shiny. So that vctory made up for the banana bread. I then dusted three rooms, had lunch, took a shower, had a little nap, bagged up the trash, swpet my front sidewalk and the garage. I wam sure there are a number of smaller tasks I am forgetting about but you get the picture. Soooooo I am rewarding myself with a little afternoon cocktail.
Will start supper around 5 and after we eat and clean up I wil call it a day. Now I finally feel like I accomplished something insead of just rambling about all day !
Yesterday inbetween football games, Steve and I watched a Billy the Exterminator marathon. Loved every one even if I had seen it before. Our friends Matt & Heather moved down to La.a few months ago and I think about them every time I see that show. Wondering if one of their 5 boys found a snake or something in their yard and have to call Billy.
Steve and I are hosting our Life Group Bible Study tomorrow night. Thus the need for cleaning. There  are a total of 5 couples including us. We have such good and in depth study. I have learned so much. Plus, we have grown very close, becoming great friends. That'll all go down at 7 tomorrow.
Well, moving on to other internet viewing.

A new year

Greetings Bloggers,
Only my second post. I don't make new years resolutions but I am going to attempt to post on here a little more often this year.
Main thing going on right now that is on my mind is trying to make it work financially so I can not have to go back to work. I started in the working world right after I graduated High School (Lafayette High School St Joseph MO class of '79) only break I have had is a few weeks when my 2 kids were born. I have been given this opportunity and I have to make it work. I find it funny that i am seriously busy around here all day long and don't seem to accomplish anything. i need to be a better steward of my time. Hopefully that will start next week when Steve goes back to work on a more regular schedule and I can get into a better schedule. I also need to learn to spend less. I will work on that too.
Today I am looking forward to using my kids as guinea pigs for a couple of new recipes I am trying, Steve does not like rice (I know, what a wierdo) so I rarely get to have rice. Since he is gone to the Chiefs game today I am trying a new chicken and rice recipe.  I got the recipe out of the book Brandon gave me for Christmas called "Entertaining under the Influence" by Amy Sedaris, That book is hilarious and has some good looking recipes in there. The other one is from that book too and is for a home made chocolate cake with chocolate whipped cream icing.
Gotta go vacuum and get dressed, the kids will be here in a while.

Here we go.......

I'mmk joining the world of bloggers. I know very little about it. What I DO know is I love to tell people what I think. Sometimes to the point of being brutally honest. First, right off the bat, if I talk about you, don't take it personally and get all mad and stuff. It's all in fun. Also, I have spelling and gramatical immunity. I will talk about funny stuff I see on the internet, on TV and in real life too. You will get to hear about what it's like to be 40ish and finally getting to stay home ant do whatever the heck I want. I might talok about crafting or cooking or I might talk about the morons  I just encountered at WalMart. It'll be a surprise. And with that I bid you adieu, got stuff to do.  See ya all.   Debi
